(Laken B) Over the last couple of weeks the students have worked hard on a shared reading challenge. We have... Listened to the story for enjoyment of this classic tale. Unpacked the moral of the story as well as some of the tricky / new vocabulary in the story. Completed a Cloze reading activity (where the students have to replace words taken out of the story by choosing from the words in a box at the top of the page). Sequenced parts of the story (back) into the correct order. Illustrated the story- taking care to reread the sections of the story they were illustrating so as to match correct / detailed illustrations with the text. Created a GLOSSARY to unpack new / tricky vocabulary from the text. Answered questions about the text; e.g., What is a moral? What is the moral of ...
